We've heard countless Indie developers talk about the surprising sales they've made on Switch in the past, with many people who think their games reach sales milestones significantly faster on Nintendo's machine than on other platforms. Although that is not always the case, today brings another success story of Switch in the form of Thea: The Awakening.
In an interview with Ninty Gamer, developer MuHa Games talked about the first week of the game that is on sale on the platform. Thea: The Awakening as a turn-based strategy title has suffered to some extent by launching in the same week as the excellent (and more often discussed) title. Wargroovebut that does not stop it from exceeding previous sales on rival consoles.
"We can say that Thea was noticeably better in the first week of sales on Switch than on other consoles." It is quite surprising, especially when you consider that fewer people own Switch than Xbox One or PS4.
Moreover, we learned a little too late that there was a strategy title of a major publisher that was released the same day, such a competition made the launch a little more stressful.
Another point is that Thea is now ~ 3.5 years old, so it is certainly not new in the gaming world. All in all – a positively surprising start. "

Fortunately, the developer says that the process went faster than expected and that it was "completely painless".
